SOLITARY WASP

By Jack Bowman Ó 1999

Solitary and Colonizing Wasp

The solitary wasp exists as many species. The wasps we know well are the colonizing wasps. We know them so well because they are annoying.

Since man, as currently defined, is a colonizing species I will refer to him often in order to explain the nature of a generalized species of Solitary Wasp.

The Dangerous Colonizing Wasp

The Colonizing wasp are the dangerous ones because they use their stinging power for defensive and aggressive purposes instead of capturing food. The solitary wasp rarely stings humans and their stinger is used for obtaining food for their young and self.
